One of the more interesting services San Luis Ambulance offers is the use of a four-wheel drive ambulance. This ambulance, like all of the other ambulances San Luis Ambulance operates, is staffed and stocked to provide Advanced Life Support (ALS). This means there is at least a minimum of one Paramedic with an EMT.

Although primarily used to transport patients from the Oceano Dunes Recreation Area, a California State Park, the ambulance is capable of responding to any situation that requires the use of four-wheel drive.

Prior to operating the four-wheel drive ambulance, staff members must undergo rigorous training and testing to ensure that they have complete understanding of the nuances of this special ambulance.

By providing the four-wheel drive ambulance, San Luis Ambulance is doing everything possible to expedite the treatment and transport of the sick and injured.
